Commonplace Development has a rich experience in developing hardware and writing firmware for a large diversity of projects. Originating from the creative industries we learned to iterate fast and think in creative solutions. We are also the technical half of the design practice Commonplace Studio.
We specialize in the first stages of development where there is a need for a proof of concept, rapid first prototypes or small scale productions. We can also assist in the next steps of upscaling and bringing projects to the state ready for production.
Embedded Systems
We design and write firmware for embedded applications. These systems can be designed by us, or based on existing systems like Raspberry PI, Arduino, Teensy).
Electrical design
Design of the elecrical circuits and PCB layout. We mostly work with Altium Designer but Eagle or KiCad are possible as well.
PCB Assembly
Often the first pieces for testing can be produced in house saving significant costs. We can also help preparing for outsourcing.
Prototyping
Iterate fast, test often. We are able to execute many aspects of the design in house allowing for fast iterations and quick first prototypes.
